Down year and with the prices of tickets and lack of space for regular customers making the show a little bit of a bummer. Nice display with B-17 leading the parade flight, wished they would have put up the 24 with that flight as well. Lots of lulls in the action including with the battle. Very nice weather and a good time. Will post some pictures shortly.

One of the Thunderbird's ingested a bird in practice. One of the crew climbed in the intake with a flashlight.

Another very good show today! The USAAF Airpower parade was spectacular both days! Being able to see the transports/bombers flying one line while the fighters fly another pattern at the same time was incredible to experience. Thunder does that better than any show I've ever been to.

A big kudos to TOM for getting Briefing Time and the C-54 up with that flight today. It's very rare to see the C-54 actually get to perform in the flying portion of an airshow and the group I was with really appreciated seeing it. Also really appreciated seeing Yankee Lady flying with the rest of the warbirds in both the formation flight at the big USAAF flight.

Interesting to see the later dates for next year, but we'll be back as always!

Yep, good show.
Strange seeing the Tbirds taking off single file, first time I have ever seen them do that, and the show was flown a bit differently than it was SAT, maybe because of the clouds.
Hung out to watch takeoffs, very tough anymore to find a decent spot ... I ended up on the Rawsonville side where I saw some good takeoffs, was there to 7pm and the Tbirds never did take off, probably in the morning.

What is the deal with Bagley's Kingcobra? It is marked as P-63A 42-69021 but the data plate says P-63C 43-11223. It even has two entries in the warbird registry here at WIX!

It was a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed my UH-1 flight!

Looks like we dodged a wet bullet, boys - Nothing but rain today, more expected for tomorrow.

A hearty well done to the Museum, performers and volunteers who conducted a safe exciting air show this past weekend at the Willow Run Airport. The weather conditions could not have been more ideal!

Looking forward to the 2015 edition, when the U. S. Navy Blue Angels roar back into town on August 29 & 30.

See you on the ramp.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

I went to Sunday's show. I would have prefered to have gone to Saturday's show since the weather was better but I rode on the B-24 after the show Sunday. Sunday it looked like almost everything landed on 5L.

I saw the B-24 coming in for a landing about 5:30, maybe you were onboard.
If you noticed a guy in a blue truck sitting next to an abandoned factory, that was me !
Tough to find a good spot for viewing takeoffs this year

Great show Tom, Kevin, all the performers and volunteers of Yankee Air Museum for putting together yet another spectacular show. Here my first batch of images from Thunder Over Michigan 2014. Let's start with a few from the photo tour....
