Hello all, I have original Vultee marked fuel quantity gages in my BT-13A. They were removed a couple years ago for tank sealant. The right tank gage is now stopped right at 20 gallons and stays there whether the tank if full or empty. I thought that if it constantly read empty that the float could be at the bottom of the tank and made contact with the tank sealant which could hold it in place, but I can't explain why it's at 20. And I'm not sure if it has to do with the reserve tank inside holding 17 gallons. Hopefully someone out there might have an answer or a similar experience that could shed light on the problem before I have to drain and remove the gage/float assembly. Thank you!!!

The gauge works with a magnet at the end of the gear shaft which rotates and causes the needle to rotate on the face of the gauge. If it is stuck at 20, there is probably some dirt there, or the shaft is bent so it only reads 20. If you disassemble it, clean it, and re-assemble it, it should work fine.

Thanks John. As soon as I can burn off or drain 60 gallons, I'll do just that.
