Rumors (sorry, rumours) and now pics at Flypast forum suggest P-47G SNAFU being dismantled for shipment to the Colonies.

Is it just me, or do things seem unusually "fluid" among a lot of major collections right now? We've got all the sad drama with our own Jerry Yagen's collection, Erickson has added two of Jerry's birds, the Russell Group is divesting itself of the Hurricane and "my" beloved Emil, and now there's some action with "Snafu"... what's next?

That whole collection is up for sale now, their Spitfire is long gone and now their Harvard is listed alongside the Hurricane and Emil

For nearly daily updates on the goings on at Duxford, including the dissasembly and crating of "Snafu", this is the thread to watch:

Well I’m certainly glad I got to see her the last few years at Duxford, first during her restoration

... and finally on the flight line flying.

Maybe I’ll get to see her again on this side of the pond. :drink3:

This P-47 has become one of my favorite restorations. Every photo of her details seems to exceed expectations.
