Greetings from chilly Melbourne (actually not that bad, just wet n windy again)

Work is progressing on the DC-3 at Moorabbin Air Museum. We are having another working bee next Sat 10th August. I know most are overseas etc, but any locals who would like to pop in for and hour or two let me know and i can add you to the list (and make sure you are fed etc) Work is to continue on the flaps, tail fairings and also giving the old girl a big washdown, before fitting a number of newly made panels made over at the United Aerostructures factory, priming other sections to protect them and some general tidying up.

Those that are able to can see progress pics on the Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/WarbirdRestorationServices if you don't use facebook there is an ongoing thread on Warbirdz.net which has plenty of pics there as well. Some progress shots of the P-40 restorations underway in the factory are there also.

And all these efforts are being noticed ! This week a feature article was published in the Moorabbin Air Museum (AARG) Newsletter, and sent out to members. A fantastic result for all concerned and its your help on the projects that makes this all come together – thank you :)

It's a good time to clear up any confusion as the article is not altogether clear about WRS. WRS is a volunteer group made up of various people from all walks of life. We are not a splinter group from the AARG nor are we an actual AARG group – though there are numerous AARG members involved with WRS including myself and Ash (who is a life member, itself a rare honour) . WRS is a fully independent setup that is pitching in and helping museums and other groups with their restorations / projects - there are other museums already in contact with us about various aircraft that require assistance. The AARG do conduct their own working bees at the museum, and their next one is in October, however as you all know ours is August 10 (weather permitting). Of course you are more than welcome to attend the AARG working bee should you wish, just be aware that this is something not organised by Ash or myself, rather the AARG committees. No ill will here, just wanting to make sure everyone is across what we do and what the museums do within their own calendars.

It already looks like we will have another good turnout on the day too. Looking forward to it !
Cheers

Ewan
