I'm finishing up a monograph on the first 47 Phantom IIs. I'd like to include a current list and status of survivors. Here are four that I need more information on and a photograph if possible:

145308 –Fort Meade, FL (fuselage derelict in a field off Highway 17?)

145313 – Ground target, photographic resolution range, Edwards AFB, CA

146820 – Ground target, Kirtland AFB, NM

148256 – Mayport Naval Base, FL?

Thanks,

Tommy Thomason (aka Tailspin Turtle)

Tommy here's a shot of 148256, location and date unknown (to me) unfortunately.

(Mark, I'd like to pass that shot of 256 to Nathan Decker - sometimes I combine photos for the listings when I find ones with different paint schemes for the same plane.)
Edit 11-18-18: Photos and link updated.

I think it's unlikely that any of these are still in existence, with the possible exception of 145308 (ex Fort Meade). This used to be at N27.70838, W81.80526. If you look at historical imagery on Google Earth (December 2004 for example) you can see a pile of airframes there, but the area is now clear. It may have gone somewhere else I suppose.
As for Edwards, there is one unidentified (to me) F-4 sitting out at N34.87059, W117.58977 which could be a candidate for 145313 I guess.

Thanks for the help. My F4H-1 monograph should be available in mid December. See http://thanlont.blogspot.com/2018/11/bi ... antom.html

Tailspin, that looks like a great book. I have a real soft spot for the first "flat top" Phantoms. Around 2003 I stumbled across the #3? bird dumped in the weeds at Quantico and spent a good long while walking around her. Pretty gutted, but still very distinct as an early Phantom. She was later moved to a concrete apron and I believe is now inside.

I do hope Sageburner comes out of Garber.
