Mudge the befuddled

Here is the text from their Facebook account on the July Event
Quote:
The MAM will host its second-annual “Warbirds and Wings” Aviation Summer Day Camp, July 15-19, 2013.

Your child will learn the fundamentals of flight: how factors such as lift, drag, thrust and weight affect flight, as well as a brief history of aviation from one of the Museum’s own pilots. Campers will put their new-found knowledge to the test by building and flying their own gliders and model airplane, and by applying a little science to the construction and launch of their very own model rockets.

Ground crew training, education on the important safety measures and hand signals required to handle aircraft on the ground will also be a part of the agenda. Children will enjoy 2 field trips, one to Langley Air Force Base, and the other to the Museum’s own Fighter Factory. The final day will feature a picnic, with games and prizes.

Thank you, kindly. Thought it might be something we'd want to attend. The picnic, I'd could do, otherwise.....

That's a pity that he's selling up, but he has had some fantastic restorations done which everyone benefits from no matter where the collection disperses to. Am I correct in thinking that it was him that had that Russian Mig 3 restored a few years back. That looks a beauty.

Tillamook Air Museum just posted pictures of Chuckie and the FW-190 to their facebook page. Guess that confirms that rumor.

Which FW? The radial engine A3 or the liquid engine “long nose” D9?

I don't have access to FB from this computer...

Chuckie is scheduled to depart Va on Saturday Morning to begin the journey to Oregon. Time to plug N3701G in to FlightAware to see where she will be stopping along the way...

Does anyone know if any of the WWI collection aircraft have been sold yet, or how (who) is handling the sale?

Heard the Tillamook planes were going to be moved to Madras. Is there any truth to that?
Hope not, nothing against Madras but it's really in the middle of nowhere.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike, assuming you mean the Flug Werk flying example (which isn't an A-3), and not the ex Norwegian A-3 wk.nr.5463
also owned by Jerry.

FW190 A-8/N, 990002, ex D-FMFW, N447FW
