Anyone recall the field that was used for filming the old Black Sheep Squadron TV show? I believe Tallmantz provided the aircraft/aerial photo shoots somewhere in SoCal.

Along the 126 just *behind* Magic Mountain, the hangar is still there (saw it last week) but everything else is gone. It's across the street from Wolcott Way (end of Franklin Parkway) on the 126. Hangar is right there in what looks like a construction yard.

"Indian Dunes"...lots of film (television and movies) work done there. Great place to ride dirt bikes back in the day. Pretty sure if you "Google" Indian Dunes you will get lots of info. Think they did some filming from Camarillo and/or Oxnard out to the Channel Islands...

Yup, most of the legendary Steve McQueen bike movie, 'On Any Sunday' was filmed there.

and these locations...

Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA
Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, Oceanside, California, USA
Columbus, Ohio, USA
Draper, Utah, USA
El Escorial, Madrid, Spain
Lake Elsinore, California, USA
Québec City, Québec, Canada
Sacramento, California, USA
San Francisco, California, USA
Terre Haute, Indiana, USA
Tiburon, California, USA

of which I knew about Pendleton, Lake Elsinore and a couple of the California locations...

I am prepared to get "lite up" for this since it is off topic but speaking of McQueen has anyone ever initiated a post here on his planes? I know one of them is here in San Diego...and most are still around.

I was surprised to find out how many of the cast had passed away

You sure about that? I'm a big MASH fan. I even worked with Mike Farrell (BJ Hunnicut) on a TV movie. Everything I've ever read or heard the cast say was that that outdoor scenes were shot in Malibu. That's nowhere near Magic Mountain where Black Sheep was filmed nearby.

MASH...the movie and TV series were filmed at Malibu Creek State Park. The park used to belong to one of the studios similar to the Paramount Ranch which is in the same area. Most of the set was there until 83 or so...these days there's a couple of old vehicles and the sign post with all the mileages to the various cities. There was some talk of rebuilding the set(s) and being able to camp there a year or so back...but I think that has not happened...yet. Growing up in that part of town during that time was great for seeing film and TV work.
