On Saturday, November 12 the Air Zoo will is auctioning off sveral aircraft and artifacts that may be of interest. Included is the ex-Art Wolk F9F Panther that was wrecked in a landing accident several years ago. For anyone looking for Panther parts or for anyone interested in a large-scale project, I urge you to take a look at it. Also for sale is a partially restored 1954 Moraine Saulnier MS733 Alcyon.

For more information, call 800-968-4444 or visit the Kruse International site www.kruse.com.

Thanks for the link Kalamazoo kid,

I got some fairly decent pictures of the Panther at their show a number of years ago, and have always wondered about its status. Looks like nothing has been done to it since the accident. Thanks

No, there are no more airshows in Kalamazoo. The High On Kalamazoo airshow (which was not run by the museum) folded in the late 1990s. In 2001 or 2002 (can't remember which) the museum stopped flying due to insurance costs.

As for the Panther, nothing was done to it after the accident. It would be a major project for anyone interested. I personally wish we were restoring it ourselves, rather than auctioning it off. Just my opinion, though...I don't pay the bills, just volunteer.

The museum also stopped having their Warbirds Over Kalamazoo show. The last one I remember them having was in 2001.

I also wish they could restore the Panther but, as John said, it would be a major project. At one time somebody who worked at the Air Zoo told me they were going to use it as a Korean War crash diorama, but obviuosly that never happened. If its sold I hope whoever gets it has the resources to restore it back to flying condition.

To my knowledge no work has been done one the Panther since the crash. Not sure about spare parts.

Anyone know who bought any of the aircraft? I'm interested in who might be the new owner of the Morane and the Panther.

what a serious babe she was:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=9 ... _id=909484

who knows, maybe someday we'll ser her back in her element.
I remember reading & re-reading the rebuild article in FlyPast; I even built a model in the same markings out of the Hasegawa 1/72 kit; too bad the kit lasted longer than she did. It's still on my shelf, and I look at it almost every day.

Hey Rob,
That first piture is interesting. The panther with another airplane wrecked in a landing accident. Larry's T-33.

At least 63Z is still airworthy.

Did Arthur Wolk sue himself after the crash? :)
