Stunning!

I thought the Vega had a molded plywood fuselage. Is this a special military variant that used metal instead, or did Lockheed simply switch to metal later?

The Y1C-12 was a DL-1, which was a metal alloy version of the Vega 5C built by the Detroit Aircraft Corporation.
