I think the 3rd photo is of a VF-1 Hellcat piloted by Ens. William Schroeder. On 24 Oct 43, VF-1 was going through refresher carrier landings on the Barnes. Schroeder's tailhook was bent straight after hitting a light grating on the run down ramp. He went through the barriers & into the elevator well landing upside down on the plane that had landed just before him. The barriers were still entangled in his plane & stopped the cockpit section two feet above the floor of the elevator. Neither Schroeder or the pilot of the other plane, Ens. Boyd Weber, were injured in the accident.
Besides the description of Schroeder's crash (I'm sure there were other similar crashes) matching the photo, another reason why I think it was his, was the side number on the plane. On 8 Nov, VF-1 embarked half their squadron on the Barnes & the other half on the Nassau for support of the Tarawa invasion. The planes flying off the Barnes were coded with a G & the planes flying off the Nassau were coded H.
