Pretty cool. Looks Bomberguy has taken the time to post many documentaries on bombing Europe.

Hello, My apologies if I should have posted in its own thread.
I was very interested in Bomberguys other videos. There is a video of bombers making emergency landings in Switzerland.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=mjNnqGGgvR0

At about the 1 minute and 50 second mark, there is a Liberator landing and it looks like to parachutes were attempted to deploy for braking. Was this very common? Would the waist gun mounts be strong enough?

Thank you,
Arty

It really does show the different perceptions over the years, everyone including LeMay were tongue tied and very self conscious, today if you shove a microphone in anyone's pie processor they light right off and go on and on, and on, and, on
There were a few instances of crews using parachutes out the side positions (mostly on B-24's as I understand) tied off to internal structure to slow or stop an airplane with no hydraulics, That was before the Flintstones.

If I had to choose between being a guest at a motel 6 in a really bad part of town or a Hilton I think I would have opted for the Hilton.I'm sure some did desert their post and they had to live with that the rest of their lives.
