I hate to break it to you, but the air field set is no longer there. A buddy of mine worked on, "The mask of Zoro" in 1997, and they filmed it in the same area. He was a huge fan of the film and bunch of the crew went to go see the airfield set and were hugely disappointed. You'd never be able to land a plane in there now, nor is it in the middle of nowhere like it was in 1969 when they filmed there.
:x  :(

Can we keep comments like this off the board? Yes Mexico has given us lots of problems like illegal immigration, (like the 6 time murderer, 3 time prison escapee and multiple bank robber found living illegally 2 doors down from my favorite Colombian restaurant in South Gate last week,) but Mexico is far from "worthless", and on the other hand who else is going to do all the work that Americans don't want?. I've been there over 500 times. Tulio?

Well, first, let me start by saying that I am not a mexican.

Being a Latin American though, I have come across too many times already, with the bigotry and ignorance expressed by this individual.

What makes a person, or a country, worthwhile or worthless?

If you want to refer to the illegal immigration, well, I am sure that if you are against it, you refuse to purchase any products made, harvested or produced with illegal labor, in keeping with your high moral standards.

If you want to refer to the criminal element, true, there are criminals not only in Mexico, but also here in the USA, the BTKs, John Wayne Gacy, the Green River Killer and so on.

These facts do not make this country worthless at all.

Not knowing anything about your background, I cannot comment on your relative worthiness or lack thereof, nor can I comment on why you feel this way about a whole country. I can understand if you have had a bad experience with one, or even several individuals, but to call a whole population worthless smacks of "Imperfect Generalization" (Logic and Reasoning 101) and constitutes a falacy.

I trust that I am 100% mistaken about you and that your characterization of Mexico was a simple error on your part.

Given that this is an aviation forum, I will try to keep this thread clean from any further comments, but will be glad to PM with you, if you so wish.

Saludos,

Tulio
