Saw the posts and questions about the lockheeds or lodestars, and I owned 339 for about three years. I think it was flown to Texarkana in 1997 by Tommy May, where it joined another for future freight service. It never came to fruition, and sat for years, went through several hands or banks, and was sold on e-bay to me. I was never able to do anything with it other than pat it on its head every now and then, because of a lack of funds. There is a lockheed community that kind of keeps track of these round birds, but not too closely, and mine eventually went to Gary Doahla for donor parts for his, which was in Little Rock. I think the other one was sold to Aubie Pearman by Tito Melendez, and the parts went to Tupolo?
Would love to hear from anyone involved with them, and hope that we
might see them in the future.
The tri gear that was at Chino I think went to Matt Jackson, and might be at California City.
I still have some parts, but I sort of promised them to Aubie, but havent heard from him in a little while, probably my fault for being a little lazy.
Hope to hear from anyone with more info on these, and I might be able to shed some light on some others.

Afraid not - your image depicts a Tri-gear version of the Beech 18!

Bonzo......I aquired N339 a little over a year and a half ago....She is being taken apart , as the city of Texarkana wants it and Aubie's Gulfstar removed as well...and sooner than later...Her time sitting has not been to kind to her, some of the structural members are badly corroded.

I really dont know how to use this site, so maybe someone can tell me how to contact Gary Hilton. Sounds like you are up on a lot of things, and I would like to talk about lockheeds and who has what and who needs what.
I can think of three Lodestars that need to be moved, maybe more, and have some thoughts on how to do that ,
I also have some phone numbers for Lodestar owners, is there a list of them?, I would like to share any helpful news I have, and would like to tell some of my stories, but phones or in person are much easier for me.
My name is Bruce Alberti, but I was introduced to most of the airplane guys as Bonzo since that is what family has always called me.
E-mail is bonzoalb@yahoo.com

hope this works

Dont know of any in Arizona except for Sam Brunettos. Used to be a 500, and maybe a 250, but I think Duff said they scrapped the 500 a few years ago, and I think also the other one was scrapped, sort of a surprise to the people that thought they owned it. Thats what I remember from 3 to 5 years ago. Dont always trust my memory, but I try to be honest.
The planes to be moved are two in Texarkana, and one in Rantoul Kansas. I think there might still be a 500 hulk in the gulf area, and maybe a lodestar too. Cant remember the oil co., but someone will.
I heard stories about a Lodestar in Lake Charles, I think somebody named Charlie, that has sat a long long time.
I think I counted 8 that were flyable in the U.S., and can count at least two more that are under restoration to flyable condition.
Would like to help if I can to preserve any more or the currant ones.

Ok this was long ago,but I'm an old man,On new years day,1991 I went to Falcon Field to see the Champlin collection. As my luck would have it the 2 days they were closed was Christmas and New years Day.only time I was ever in the Phoenix area.So I walked around the airport and there were at least 3 Lockheeds rotting on the tarmac. They had spraybars and were obviously bug killers. does anyone know what became of these or are they now beer cans?
