Below is a beautiful color photo of North American P-51D-25-NA Mustang 44-73704. What I don't know is the when, were and what FS and FG she belonged to in this photo.

Now on the civil registry as N6168C.
Below how she looked when she won the 2001 EAA Oshkosh - Preservation Award.

And I believe below how she looks today painted as "Weaver's Nude" to honor Capt. Charles E. "Chuck" Weaver

In the first pic, the black antiglare panel and windscreen frame say postwar to me.

The squadron is from the 433rd FS/475th FG and was equipped with P-51's post-war in Japan. Wish there was more views of that plane.

I'll look through some of my Korean War stuff. If it was in Japan postwar, there's a fair chance it would have gone to Korea sooner or later.

Come to think of it, maybe not. How many KW Mustangs made it back home? I don't think I've ever seen any warbird Mustang referred to as a "Korea War veteran." :?
