Really good to hear from you Taigh.
Hope things are going OK.
Clearly, you seem up to the challenge of a road trip and an engine change
Pretty impressive to see the QEC come off prop and all.
That's got to help simplify things.

Best to the team.

Andy

Ditto Mr Taigh...glad to hear you are well.

Wish I could send a few dollars....but it is not going to happen for 2020!!!

All the best. Your Harpoon story and the B-24 thread from Gary are the best ever on WIX from my end!!!

Cheers

Hey Mac,

The Harpoon is doing well. She is in hibernation for the winter although she can come out to play should the need arise. The "new" engine is running well as is the rest of the old gal.

We are looking forward to her air show season next year and to continue flying Pat and any other PV vets we can find.

We really appreciate the donations that we have received as it keeps the old girl going. It is a very worthy project for sure.

Even though we have not been posting much, 062 has still been active.

We recently ventured off to Reno for the last Air Races. Special thanks to Gil Ferrey for arranging the funding for this. The main reason gill rallied the troops was to get Pat, our wonderful 101 year old PV vet, to fly 062 up there. Pat turns 102 the day after Thanksgiving.

Pat did a great job flying her up and talking to the crowd through the week of Reno. We had a great spot on the static display ramp right next to the PB4Y-2 and a lot of other cool aircraft. The Harpoon received the award for the most oil dripped on the ramp. We are so proud!

We met three people who flew Tanker 101 and they shared some great stories.

The people seemed to love the Harpoon and we did a lot of tours. Of course we love the kids and often give them special tours of the cockpit.

This year's Reno was my first (and last) and a big attraction for me was the Harpoon. Although I didn't get to meet any of the team - talk about popular! - I was so pleased to finally see her in person and get some snaps of Pat with his adoring public.

 Were I a betting man I'd have gone for the Privateer!

I really hope I get to say hi at some point, Taigh, and thank you for keeping us all so well-advised of everything happening with this wonderful machine.

She looks beautiful and patinated: most realistic warbird color scheme?

My pleasure! I'm only sorry I didn't get to say hi but, in fairness, there were lots of folks I fully intended to get to but missed out on due to their popularity!!
