Thanks again, glad you guys like them. One thing I have always wanted to do was "then and now" photos. I found some shots of Hitler on Adam Carr's site "tracesofevil.com.. They are photos taken during his 1940 visit to his old WWI haunts. We are staying in Ypers today and I found all but one place that he visited. We also spent a good amount of time visiting key Battle of the Bulge sites...really cool to stand where it happened.

Thx for posting Jim. I've been over there to a few in those places and have done similar things as stand in the same spots where this type of history occurred. I found it fascinating (not so interesting for the female companion though lol) Foy was especially interesting as it was so quiet when I was there. Two uncles KIA during and shortly after the bulge which lent to a flood of emotions. I plan to visit more battlefields in the Pacific theater again soon as well. I usually find I prefer to visit these sites alone though as not too many folks in my world seem to experience the same fascination and interest, which actually is fine with me as then there are no distractions to my personal thoughts and feelings. These sites require silence and reflection and not chatter or noise IMHO.

Thx again and I also find before and after photos to be fascinating. I'm beginning to incorporate them in some of my threads.

M

Loved France and Belgium, great time and we saw ALOT. I hadn't planned on doing any then and now images until I saw the itinerary and realized we were taking the same route Adolf took when he made his way to Paris after the Blitz. He revisited his old WWI haunts which was about the same course that our trip took.

and let us not forget the air...standing there in Northern France it was hard not to look skyward and not think of the thousands of aircraft that traversed this airspace during WWII.
