South African PBY will get it's tail feather repainted, terrible mistake. It is owned by myself, Steve Hamilton and my friend John Seibold. Working on TC785 compliance and an airworthiness certificate via a future DAR visit. Steve

Steve, you've done a heck of a job! You should be very proud of the cat!

Welcome to WIX Steve.
From someone who gets to see your Cat regularly I can tell you that you have a great and dedicated team working on it.
I am glad you are changing the tail stripes .. I know its a nuisance and expense but trust me if I had a dollar for all the times I have been asked about it ...I would be rich :D

We all cant wait for it to fly and are hoping that we will see it in the air a bit before it gets exported from our shores ...or preferably not exported

The PBY will fly in South Africa for a period of time, then back to Oshkosh next year. Lots of great US destinations as well and my partner John really wants to get it home. For me I would just as soon leave it there and do a lot of Safaris. I think also the guys who have it will need the hangar back after it is finished.

It will be nice to have one flying on the west coast again.
