Locals dislike warbird jets that go "supersonic" ... from local airport and their the engine noise etc.

Its another issue where the local council is having a say to shut it down and move them elsewhere..

Its just the locals wanting to get on TV. the same thing happened here in Tampa for the Nissan World Challenge race at the State Fairgrounds. The locals complained that it made too much noise, so after the races 3rd year it shut down. (Remember this is a race in the middle of the day) While at the same time, they never complained about the State Fair that happens every single year, lasts 2 weeks, and goes on all through the night. :x

It never ceases to amaze me how people can move into a dwelling near an airport and somehow be taken by surprise when they discover that airplanes are noisy. :x

I think there's a "Here's your sign!" joke in this somewhere.

Grrrrrrrr...I don't know how many times I have seen this happen.

I used to know a Real Estate Developer that would brag that he would buy up land real cheap; because it was next to a Race Track or Airport. Then he would build homes, make a mild profit; and start a campaign against the PRE-EXISTING Race Track or Airport. The usual argument would be to protest against "noise pollution"; or traffic concerns. Sometimes they would talk up EPA violations. Then when the Track or Airport was shut down; he would buy up the land at fire sale prices and make a killing when he subdivided.

Thats starting to happen to Sebring International Raceway. If any of you guys know about the B-17 training route of crews before they were sent to Europe, you have herd of this airfeild. If you are a fan of Le Mans Racing, you have herd of the track
