Update to Legend Of Aces Website

Hello all.

I just finished a huge update to my company's website with the latest aircraft projects added. If you can please check it out and leave some feedback, it would greatly be appreciated. If you guys see any problems that i missed please let me know so I can fix them.

The overall design looks good, but the content is about 20-25% oversized. It crowds the screen. The content and layout itself looks jsut fine just a bit oversized.

I agree. It's a fantastic website, but it does have one very irritating feature - the stuff is so oversized that you have to use the left/right scroll bar at the bottom to see the entire frame. Typically speaking, I will often immediately exit websites when I see that because I'm lazy and have to move my cursor from one end of the screen to another. Scrolling up and down is never a problem, because most mice have a scroll wheel on them facilitating easy up and down movement. Most mice don't have one for the horizontal direction. As a consequence, it takes twice as long to navigate the website. When I see that horizontal scroll bar at the bottom, I usually leave the website unless I am VERY interested in what it contains.

But, not to sound too negative, as you did a great job - much better than I could have ever dreamed of! I was just trying to give you some constructive feedback!

That Jurca Spitfire project is awesome! Looks like fantastic workmanship, but it might be about the same amount of work to build one out of metal if you had the skills. Any idea how much labor he has into it? Are the photos up to date?

Thanks guys for the input. Just wondering what size monitor you are using? The website was set up for a 17" monitor so you wouldn't have to scroll side to side.

As for the Jurca Spitfire, they are up to-date. Andy is in the process of finishing the wing for the new owner and hopefully it will be making its first flight very soon.

I am using a 15.4" laptop. I would guess that a lot of people probably use laptops more than full size desktop monitors. If I'm not mistaken, the 15.4" is the most common screen size for laptops. Just something to think about.

I'm on an iMac and MacBook and don't need to scroll on these as they have the wider screen ratio, but I would agree with Warbird1 that the font size chosen is a bit large, and to me looks a bit 'shouty' and oversize.

Critically I need to scroll down on the home page to get to 'enter site' which will lose you viewers - you'd be surprised at how many people find scrolling a mystery. Simple fix is just to enable the graphics as links into the site themselves.

Incidentally, I think it's better to aim for the smaller regularly used screen size not the larger. Most quality websites seem to me to be well short of the full width of any regularly used screen.

I like the style of the site. I use three 24" Samsung 245BW with a Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital. Basically each display is 1680x1050.
