That's cool! :D 2/3 or full size, that must be a big undertaking.

How do they keep the engines cool without radiators on the tailbooms?

Looks pretty neat! I think I would have made dummy radiator scoops though. ;)

Would be nice to see some dummy examples on there to add to the authenticity. The rest of the aircraft looks quite realistic and proportioned. Cant wait to see what scheme will be on it.

I have seen a similar one...

in Santa Maria at one of the fly-ins they had way back when (20+ years ago) I don't know if it was the same plane as I recall the one I saw was a 1/2 scale and had to automotive v6 engines powering it. It looked pretty good from a distance but up close it was a bit too small for me. it seemed to fly pretty well. I wonder if its the same plane?

Two different aircraft.

sweet - FAA search shows an owner in San Angelo TX - wonder if he is booking air shows?? :D

and I agree - the tail scoops would be a nice touch, but again, to have the plane period would be cool!

It's good to see that it has flown. I met the builder and his a couple of years ago and at the time it was ready for taxi test. It is 100% scratch built, and is powered by two air cooled engines. I think it has IO-360s but I may not be remembering that correctly. His wife told me at the time that after spending 20 years building it, that his health probably would not allow him to fly it, and she doubted he would ever let anyone else fly it either. I hope he was able to be the one that did.

Two different aircraft.

So are you saying it's THREE different aircraft? Or is the one in the linked story this one?

The first one is a 1/2 scale and the one you posted about is 2/3 scale.

you can hardly tell the scale difference from an original one!! that would definetely be an air show stopper!!
