Just got home and didnt have internet for over a week.

Gary, you were a true friend and you will be missed in this world.

Until we meet again, thank you for keeping the spirit of warbirds alive,

I pray for you and your family.

So...at work today feeling quite morose and blue, especially since I couldn't make Gary's service. On the radio comes a Rascal Flatts song callled "Why" . Very fitting, and sad but in a way, comforting.

<toast> Absent Friends, well loved and deeply missed.

The antenna fell of my computer so I didn't have internet service today to see what was posted at the time of his service.

I was thinking of Gary at that time. I had thought of flying down to Midland, but had some minor dental surgery yesterday already scheduled.

I hope and think he will be in a lot of people's thoughts for some time.

Bill

We toast our faithful comrade
Now fallen from the sky,
And gently caught by God's own hand
To be with Him on high

To dwell among the soaring clouds
He knew so well before
From dawn patrol to vicotry roll
At heaven's very door.

And as we fly among them there
We're sure to hear his plea
"Take care, my friend, watch your six,
And do one more roll for me."

Very touching. God speed once again.

Beautiful. Sincerely beautiful. As I watched it, and I recognized so many pictures, it is simply unfathomable that I never met this man. Watching so many familiar images, it just seemed like I was watching a tribute to a treasured friend.

I suppose that, somehow, I was. Otherwise, there's no explanation for the tears by the end.

Very moving memorial. Lots of laughs and a lot of tears. Lots of thoughts on the long drive home. Took some pictures of Austin Acres I will post later.

Well, we were busy with Randolph preparations, but were thinking of all the folks in Midland. Still sad.

But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,
and there shall no torment touch them.
In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die:
and their departure is taken for misery,
And their going from us to be utter destruction:
but they are in peace.

-from "Goodbye Mickey Mouse", by Len Deighton

All blessings on you, Gary. Truly, may you now be in peace...
