Warbird Information Exchange

From a late comer to this site, forgive me if this info has already posted.
I flew B-52 D 60666 at Fairchild AFB, Washington from 1963 thru 1966.
Many dreaded flying the ship due to its number, but I felt it was privelige to fly such a remarkable aircraft.
Many who flew it entered write-ups in the Form 781 that appeared to be "revenge" discrepencies, frequently putting it into the repair hanger. It served well despite the dubious, undeserved nickname of "Sick, Sick, Sick".
For a sad viewing of a great bird's demise, see the Smithsonian "Air & Space" magazine of July, 1995. A five page spread shows the mega-ton guillotine cutting the plane apart with four death blows, while a former 60666 B-52 Vietnam pilot, Ken Curry, watched.
"The Beast", 60666, will long live in my memories as a great part of my life!!!!

B-52D-70-BO 56-0586 GUAM, ARCLIGHT PARK Displayed as 55-0100

I've recently read that it's being scrapped too, because of corrosion.

Thanks for the picture. Some day I would like to visit the old bird. At 81 yrs old, I had better move it up on my bucket list!!!!

B-52D-55-BO 55-0085 APR09 B Robins AFB (GA) has either been scrapped or due to be scrapped.

Does anyone have any info on the future of the B-52D at Willow Run? I've heard talk it may be on the chopping block due to corrosion as well.
