Just curious - without running the tail number is there any way to tell a B-25C from a D?

BTW, any B-25 buff worth a flip has seen a pic of BONES - but I've never seen those particular ones - thanks for the post!

Any ideas on that extra long barreled .50 on the port side nose on Ol 49? At least it looks extra long. Looks like a 18" - 24" extension to get it out the front? Never recall seeing anything like this? Ideas?

Jack,

I think my grandfather might be the man on the far left of the image of Old 59. His name is Gene Lefebvre and he was a navigator. Do you actually own this photo? If so would it be possible to get a high resolution copy of it?

I just came across this site while looking at photos of B-25 Mitchells, saw your post, and wanted to respond. I wasn't able to discover how to directly reply to your post but I wanted to share some info that may be of interest.

My late father-in-law, then Capt. William P Dougan, was the principle bomb group navigator for the 341st. They probably knew one another, either at Yangkai or in India, where most of them were stationed before the bombers went to China. We have numerous photos he took at Yangkai. Perhaps your grandfather's in one of them.

Please feel free to contact me through a moderator if you'd like to. I'm hesitant to put my email address in a pos only because of hackers who auto-troll looking for them. I'll be very happy to respond.
