T-28? In the unlimited class? I guess they have nowhere else to run them....

Wildfire, an aircraft that even Skip Holm couldn't fly! I wonder what's been done.

He flew well at PRS, has pylon racing experience, and seems confident that he can do 300 on the course, so why not? Several T-28s have raced quite nicely over the years, including the late Neil Anderson for several years...

Reports on AAFO.com indicate that the airplane has been heavily rebuilt/modified since the much-maligned test flight in the 80s.

Dave Morss apparently flew the test flight (?).

I read the report some years ago of the flight, but don't remember the pilot's name. He was obviously good/lucky. As I recall, Mr. Holm never got beyond the taxi phase of flight.

I'd love to see a picture of how it looks now, "bdk" says impatiently...

Oh...don't get me wrong...It's "unlimited" right? Run what you brung time!

I would love to see more of the "slower" machines on the course...expand the racing! It was just that I don't remember seeing a T-28 in the class before.

Thanks for the info.

It'll be good to see a stock Corsair on the course again -- been a long time for that, too...
