I'm gonna keep bumping this thread until they are rescued. Surely some museum must be interested?

Anyone have photos they can repost, or recent ones?
There are two Thuds at Chanute about to become beer cans, so I'm feeling your pain...

I'll see if I can snag a few soon. The planes are still sitting on the ramp in Snyder and they don't appear to be in great shape, or to have gotten any significant TLC for a while. I've seen them almost every week for the last month from a photo ship.

I would love to get approval for these, have a crew go down and dismantle them, and truck them to Connecticut for our museum, but we just don't have the manpower, time, and money to get it done right now.

Not sure if I maybe missed it in this thread, but any idea how those airplanes came to be located there in the first place? Museum that closed?

I would be more than happy to have them at the War Eagles Air Museum if I could get the museum to agree to accepting and transporting them. But I can not speak for the museum and do not know where to start. I am guessing they are part of the NMUSAF inventory?

The Texas Air Museum in Slaton planned to establish a satellite museum in my hometown of Snyder. These two airplanes came from them. At some point prior to his death, they were acquired by Gary Austin. He carried many of the parts to his house and planned on moving the airplanes. After his death I was settling his estate. I gathered up all the parts and took them back to Snyder as I wanted nothing to do with moving or getting involved with selling those airplanes. I’ve checked on them a few times over the years and they are pretty much in the same shape they were when I was involved. I believe the ultimate owners are the Air Force museum.
