Please excuse my ignorance here, and if this has already been addressed in this thread, I'm sorry....I just didn't notice it.............but is the engine in the Lysander a sleeve valved engine, like the Centaurus, or is it more "conventional?"

Gary,

Either or. The Lysander I and III, the CWH bird is a Lizzie III, had conventional Bristol Mercury engines. The Lysander II had a sleeve valved Bristol Perseus. For some unknown reason no Lysander II survives today.

Oh and you did indeed see a Bolie in The Defender. It is not one of the planes Jack has a picture of and I think it later went to France and was destroyed in the Musee de l'Air fire.

Geeze, I saw the thread title updated and couldn't help but picture Billy Mays screaming "now with video"!

Superb effort by the CWH! Hearty congratulations on a magnificent restoration. BTW, watched the video....pretty darned good for a first try!

So is the Boly next on the queue?

The Boly is always in the queue, there is a dedicated group of volunteers working on it twice a week who are doing a phenomenol job. The last spar of the center section is being riveted up before it comes out of the jig. Several sections of the spar ( which is a nested steel spar) had to be made new. Realistically we should have it out of the jig and mating the fuselage sections and center section by years end. Will be nice to see it on it's gear. Nothing but time and money to put it back into the air!
