Got it. Thanks. A couple corrections though. My dad is from Oshkosh and I live in Seattle now and while I was the brains behind doing this for his retirement I had help in the $$$ department from my mom & sister. I knew it would go over well and it certainly did. I can't wait to find the time to post the pics for all of you.

I went to my first Warbirds banquet in about 10 years tonight and can tell you this so far.

Grand Champion is Fagen's checkertail P-40.

Taylor won best L-Bird (Congrats!)

Vintage Wings won a few with their P-40, Hurricane and Corsair.

Sorry I don't remember more but my head is soooo tired.

Awesome! Warhawks Inc. deserved that win. I had a Timeless Voices interview yesterday with Brandon and Justin Deuel, and I can tell you they put heart and soul into that restoration. Well done fellas, well done! Congrats to Taylor as well!

In my views, Taylor deserved much better than Best L-Bird... His L-5 should have been Grand Champion post-WWII. certainly the THE finest restoration that could be seen on the warbird grounds.

I guess it's ok. We L-bird folks are kind of used to being forgotten... Wish I could've shot that announcer some better stories. There's plenty of good ones!

Really? I thought an L-4 won Grand Champion Warbird several years back, even when there were a couple newly restored Mustangs there.

It was Jim's, Vlado. Jim and Paul were in it for this shoot.

Well, got back from Oshkosh a bit ago. Here is a little preview of what was already there today, and a huge thanks to Zack for carting my butt around today. :D

That PT-19 is from our airport. He just performed the first post-restoration flight a couple of weeks ago. 20+ years he has worked on it. VERY VERY well done restoration.

Some great bragging rights there guys!!!! Hope they are BIG trophies! Hmmmmm, what is the hours of work/once of trophy ratio? I would think it hard to be a judge at an event like this, the caliber of the work is just phenomenal!

I just put together a real long post and then my internet kicked offline.

To sum it up as I need to run out and visit a friend shortly.

My dad's P-51 ride was a roaring success.
My folks surprised the heck out of me by saying I WOULD BE GOING SUNDAY MORNING!

I've got a lot to catch up on before going back to Seattle on Wednesday and then my dad flys out on Thursday and we go to the Abbotsford show Friday through Sunday. I took roughly 4,500 pics during the week and it will take some time to get through them. I will my favorites and you can always see the rest on my flickr page. I'll also do a post/story about the father/son Mustang weekend.

I leave you with this pretty rough picture and a link to a short video clip.
