Yesterday afternoon out in the yard I heard a loud radial coming over low and slow. It was a real nice looking white Stearman that looked like he was inbound for 11R.

Maybe not a warbird yet - but eligible in the future.

Well, it was from inside the Shops at Willow Bend mall in Plano, TX, but I just saw a glimpse of an F/A-18A/C come over with gear down heading north after what presumably was a low-pass or T&G at Dallas Airpark. He certainly had the throttles moved up enough.

Not your typical Sunday Afternoon. Almost thought CWAM had surprised us and gotten the MiG-23 airborne. :)

F-16's out of Sumter AFB and F/A-18's from MCAS Beaufort. C-5 inbound to and several C-17's from Charleston AFB. Several C-17's doing Touch & Go's at North Field. B-747-200 of Evergreen at Charleston AFB. The Boeing Dreamlifter at the Boeing plant in North Charleston, SC (seen frequently).

I'd like to know what's up with that. Adversary training aircraft?

Saw an EA-6B departing KRDU in a climbing, turn to an easterly heading, making that now seldom heard military turbojet sound. Seldom except for two pairs of J-79's.

Inspector,

I've been following these 3 aircraft since they were built in Taiwan in 2005. They still look terrific on a long straight-in approach.

Heritage flight birds headed home from Heritage Flight training at DM if I'm not mistaken.

And, since they aren't restricted by a cabin full of seats, I've seen some pretty inspired aerial maneuvering from them going out of KPAE. It kind of freaks you out at first to see something that big zipping around like a 185.
I watched the AN-225 CONDOR do a mind blowing 360 circuit of the field @ Abottsford B.C. right out of liftoff at about 500 ft altitude. I believe there's a youtube video of that, and it's muy impressivo to watch a milion pounds doing that.

Sounds like I need to make a phone call and see what I can find out about that one, eh?
One of my old NAVY buddys works for NAS Whidbey SAR.

Wednesday saw P-51 "Val Halla" making some sweet noise in the Whatcom County skys. Later the same day- ConAir had one of their Convairs (one day I'll learn to tell them apart) and somebody's CL-215 (?) doing their standard big circles in the air over my house. The CL-215 was odd in that it was solid grey. I've never seen one like that before.

Yesterday a T-6 buzzed Meadowmist (the little grass strip near my house) a few times.

Spring is coming to the Pacific NorthWest!!!
