Found the same photos on another web site with this caption

Envelope reads, "40 Navy PB24's on Lake Worth to Escape Gulf Storm. (Probably from Corpus Christi NAS)."

I wonder if this is the same year a Hurricane was coming to Corpus and NAS evacuated the land planes to Kelly. There was little damage in Corpus. but a tornado hit Kelly and destroyed a bunch of planes. Don't mess with mother nature.

Looking at the photos has Gary sent them. The PBYs have full
stars and bars so the photos were taken Aug 1943 or later.

In the first photo, the boat closest to the bottom has the tail shape of a dash-5. How do you enlarge photos in this context to get a better look?
