Thanks Andy.

I was at the Pate Museum this weekend. After hearing about the place for decades, I was able to stop there on my way back to Dallas. The planes are in rough shape. The C-119, F-101B, CH-21B and HU-16B are still there. As for the Armor, only the LVTP-5 is left and the minesweeper is MSB-5.

Lots of nice cars though.

Sure wish I had made it there in its heyday. Would have been nice to have a picture history. Same with Burchinal's place in Paris. That one I saw a few times in the 70's, but never had a camera.

Speaking of the Pate Museum, I've been meaning to post about it for sometime, so here goes...

I know the F-4, F-105, and T-33 went to Tyler.

Can anyone else fill us in about the others? I guess I should start another thread about this. Maybe some before and after pictures or something along those lines?

Thanks!

-Derek

Here are pictures of the F-4 and F-105 from the Pate Museum that are here in Tyler now.

These aren't the best pictures, but I have some better ones that just haven't uploaded yet.

All of the planes at HAMM Tyler. Or, as of 10 months ago anyway:

They did a really nice job restoring FJ-4 from Seawolf Park.

That FJ-4 was about to fall off of the pole at Sea Wolf Park. The wheels are still fused to the axles. When they need to move it they jack it up and put it on dollies.

I don't know the answer to those questions.

When you go, plan ahead. I got lucky when I went and there was someone at the maintenance hanger and he let me look around. The F-9 was to the side of it. All I was able to find out about it was that is a long term project. Meaning that they had no plans st the time. I didn't want to be a bother and didn't try to get closer.

They are some friendly folks there though.
