First of all, glad to hear Bill and the Hurricane pilot are ok. Hope you get back in the air before too long and thankyou for displaying these wonderful aircraft.

2 million Dollar restoration on the Hurricane. WOW. They probably have to deskin the fuselage to repair the chopped off tail wheel.

Bill, sorry to hear about your bird and the Hurricane, but I am very glad to hear that you and the other pilot are ok.

Wishing you the best and don't forget we are behind you if you need us.

Mr Greenwood
I am glad to know you and the Hurricane pilot were unhurt in the accident. I'm sorry both aircraft were damaged but we all know that sometimes these things happen and the results usually are not as favorable as this case. God Bless.

PS
IF You need help on anything please let us know up here in Ellington.

Hi Bill,

So sorry about the Spit, but so thankful that you and the Hurri pilot could walk away.

I definitely have a cold one waiting for you at OSH. Hope to see you at Zack's this summer. Take care!

Well..

What a weekend!! First off im just glad both pilots are ok and doing fine. Saturday started off with some rain but cleared off nicely just in time for the first sequence to start. Turn out was pretty good considering the wet start. It was great to see the Cavanaugh TBM out as well as the OV-1. I did get a chance to finally get some time to chat a bit with Bill G. and Ryan Harris. It was great to see a P-38 flying again over the island!!! There were four Stearmans that looked great as well and did get to do some four ship formation photo stuff on Friday. All of the museums volunteers did a FANTASTIC job of set up and break down considering the weather. Sunday was almost a total wash out until 1500. The boys from the 147th out of Ellington Field screamed through the skies to let everyone know that the show was still much alive. We were still able to do the Heritage Flight with the F-15 and P-47. The Cavanugh guys were great as well, doing some round abouts before departing back north. Rick Sharpe and the rest of the Vietnam demo looked really good!

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT WAS INVOLVED...VOLUNTEERS, VENDORS, PARTICIPANTS!!! :drink3:

Deskin? You mean take the fabric off?

I just caught wind of this today. Glad everyone made it out alright. What a sad thing to read about. Both planes are so beautiful - anyhow, my thoughts are with Bill and the crew at LSFM.

Glad to hear that neither Bill, the other pilot or anyone else on the ground for that matter was hurt.

I did get some photos of the actual landing. I was taking them at 6.5fps so there are a few. If I posted this correctly, they should be in the order they occurred. I did not catch the actual incident though as I stopped shooting just a couple of seconds before it happened.

I waited for a long time after the show, but they never brought the planes back to the LSFM hanger.
