Ken's #88 aircraft doesn't even look close to Chuck's #68.
You "wanna-bes" irritate the hell out of military people who

Ohh, I rather like this. 8) Lots of color, sharp design, and efficient use of airframe real estate. Love to see someone reproduce one of these.

The 2nd one shown on page 1 is an "E" model with an added vertical stabilizer fin ala "K" model. Check out the serial number.

Capt Sam Hitchcock flies P-40F 41-14112 off the USS Nassau 11-42

Image

Hi Jack,
You've said here (and elsewhere) that you know that the Judy Pay P-40F isn't 'Bonecrusher' and is this aircraft. May I ask what's the evidence? I appreciate that's a great photo, but you can't see the serial in the pic as presented, so it's not proof itself, so I presume you've other data? Personally I've got an open mind, and like to be convinced by evidence where possible - I'm sure you can appreciate that.

There's a well respected aviation researcher associated with the P-40F rebuild, but he doesn't use the internet, AFAIK. If you can provide me with your views and evidence, I'd be happy to pass them on, and any response. Feel free to PM me as well if you prefer.

Regards,

I was the one who mistakenly told Judy years ago that #112 was 'Bonecrusher' in the first place and supplied her with all the pictures
of the crashs and the first hand accounts! Sam Hitchcock gave me the photo above and others. #112 & #205 were 2 of the 5 P-40Fs that launched off the Nassau. The err in ID occured because there were at least 3 different #106 P-40Fs in the 44th FS due to attrition. These included 44-12112, 44-14106 "PEEWEE"/"IRENE" and 41-19836 "PEEWEE" changed to "BONECRUSHER". Also a P-40M #106 was lost. I'm not sure where the other historian got his intell but all I know of they have. All three of the survivng pilots, John Little, Zoom Radzuikinas and Ed Talbot were good friends of mine has well has 2 of the mechanics, Hank Straub and Jim Cooley, who were on the recovery. I also have the map Head was carring when he crashed 112 and have offered to send in back to keep in the a/c were it belongs 8)
