Great stuff, AJ; keep it coming!!!
I'm still scouring the pix of the '62 year-end address by Prez. Towl in Plant 2 to see if I can spot me.
BTW, photos 2939 and 2945 show E-2 sub-assemblies.

Excellent images and hostory as always - thank you!
Images 2980 and 2981 appear to be the F-5 for conversion to the X-29 and the X-29 wing being fabricated.
Thanks!!! Mark

Yes, Grumman WAS an absolutely GREAT PLACE TO WORK. Very employee-focused and family-friendly. Don't know about now, after Northrop acquired them.

Not boring at all for me , the behind the scenes pics. are a fascinating insight of aircraft production.
AJ2 , Many thanks again for you time & effort in putting them online .
P.S. Have you come across any pics. of a British Westland Whirlwind fighter s/n P6994 that was supposed to behave been sent to Grummans some time between '42-'44 for testing/research for the XF5F Skyrocket/XF7F Tigercat programs ?

Keep it comin', AJ!!!
And good luck at Truk. Who knows, you may even find some original Grumman "iron".

Wow, what an incredible collection of photographs! I've seen everything from Porsche powered hovercrafts (note the helicopters in the pics above it are also Porsche powered, but with engines tilted almost 90 degrees back!! How did they oil them??????) to '52 Buicks smashed into crash landed airplanes! Amelia, Lindberg, Bearcats, Hellcats, Cougars, Panthers,, heck, jut about ever form of feline, and even some Sabre Jets! I'll say, the Republic and the P-47 pics are my favs, followed by the F9F and the prototyping pics. But, man...the company parties! What a great place to have worked! AJ2 and Leo (I know you can read this!!) thank you so much for this collection of history, outstanding!! I do have one question...what are the rooms with all the "spikes" in them???? I am assuming for aerodynamic tests, but they look harmfull, LOL
