It's good to have you back, AJ2.
I've seen a lot that has brought back many memories. Starting with your first postings, I've recognized many persons including two bosses and my plane captain. And of course, all the top "wheels".
I worked in the Plant 2 bowling alley in the '60s, except that by then it was the hypersonic shock tunnel and the plasma lab.
Grumman was a hell of a company to work at -- the ultimate employee-focused outfit. It was non-union and stayed that way despite repeated attempts to organize it. I adopted many of their personnel practices at companies I later managed, including the Christmas turkey giveaway.
Keep 'em coming!!!

The more Wildcat production line photos, the better. I find them very interesting for our projects.

Great pictures! Thanks for posting. In picture 2853, did the Hellcat have a life raft compartment on the top of the fuselage? Hugh

I have joined this group to say that these photos ALL are TOTALLY INCREDIBLE!!! Republic and Grumman are two of my favorite aircraft manufacturers, and these photos tell more than a billion words!
ArmyJunk2; thank you very, very much for sharing your friend's massive work with this group! I know aviation historians normally would spend many years to try to get even just a few of these fantastic photos... And now you just share them with us! Somebody should make statues of you and your friend...!
I look very much forward to see more Republic Aviation Corp. photos! Maybe there even is more Republic Seabee photos!? The Republic Seabee amphibian is my favorite aircraft...
Thanks, again!

Foto 2853 shows a Wildcat, not a Hellcat. Don't know what that compartment was for and cannot find any reference to it in my documentation.
