Great pix...bring back many memories. I'd like to add some info to three of the pix:
On page 8, the 2nd photo (FF-1 parked at Bethpage Flt. Ops)--this photo was taken in October, 1966, NOT 1980.
Page 9, 4th photo (XF5F rollout)--the 3 men at the bottom left corner: the bald gent is Jake Swirbul, Grumman president and a co-founder. The gent on the right is Leroy Grumman.
Also on page 9, in the photo of the 10,000th Hellcat delivery, the man at right center is Jake.
You can learn a bit about Jake at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Swirbul.
The first issue of GRUMMAN PLANE NEWS (Co. paper) which I received when I started working at Grumman carried the news of Jake's passing.

When I saw the photo of the school kids on the Hellcat's wings, I thought to myself "Well, that could never happen in this day and age! Company lawyers would prohibit such activity, less a kid slip off the wing and his parents sue the Company."

I'm soooo glad I had a childhood before the age of lawyers and political correctness.

Absolutely BRILLIANT stuff... just BRILLIANT. The XF5F shot with the folded wings is tremendous- I've never seen that one before.

Thanks for all your efforts!!!

A grateful Lynn

OMG, that poor '41 Buick convertible - do you have a shot of the Hellcat (I assume) that nailed it?

The Tigercat has always been one of my favorites.
Thanks for all the trouble you've gone through to post them.

Thanks yet again for the pics you post - real gems!

The wood mock ups always amaze me - real artisans at work....

Let's see, F7F, so that means F8F next?!?!

Enjoy the Day! Mark

Today I converted 730 more pictures the Irfanview Program works great. This is going to go on forever so as to not overwhelm everyone I will be posting a couple of different planes per week. I haven't even gotten to Airfields yet, Roosevelt Field, Mitchel Field and some other Long Island fields.

Here are some of people that made the planes, I think there might be 1500 pictures of people making the planes, most of the time it's hard to tell what they are making, just one of the many parts.

Of the postings immediately above, the 5th picture (the folks sitting in the bleachers) -- the odd-shaped building on the left side of the pic is Grumman's subsonic wind tunnel.

I'm scouring the PEOPLE PIX to see if I can recognize any of my buddies!

Thanks again!
