Hello to all the thread followers....

ArmyJunk2, the thread starter, has devoted almost two years (May 2007 - March 2009) to posting fabulous pics to this thread. He has asked me to relay that he now has to catch-up with a bunch of things that were left undone in the meantime.

The thread is NOT FINISHED, but he does need a break.

Please tell him we appreciate his work more than he can ever realize. may he return well rested and when he feels ready!

I'm back, these are random photographs of the Grumman operation, I hope none are duplicates, but its getting hard to tell what's been posted. Remember a right click and save will give you some information on the photos. These aren't the exciting aircraft photos, but I hope will be of interest to you all............ I will post 20 or so a day

Thanks AJ, I can't begin to tell you what it means to be able to travel back and look at these places.

Thanks again.

Thanks Jigger, Today's batch, as long as anyone likes these I will try to keep posting. When I started I thought I would post a hundred photos or so, so it wasn't organized as well as it could have been. I'm trying not to repost anything but with 2600 photos here and 10,000 on the disc its getting harder. Any of you that happened to have worked at these places leave a note telling us where and what you did, that would be nice.

So what engine parts were constructed in the buildings in the last two photos?

Those building are a part of the original Joseph Krupski farmland at Calverton that Grumman built on. I have no idea how long they survived, but I bet someone here might have some knowledge of that.

the poor schmuck who is catapulted from the truck f'd up!!! i'm trying to be a poet but don't know it!! seriously...... take a hard look at those pics. those were the days of assembly lines. today, with the cost of weapon systems they'd be lucky to be assembling a handful of 20.
