Very nice - great shots and a great trip- I spent 4 weeks in Canada two years ago and it was great - fantastic country and great aircraft heritage .

Did anyone noticed that the serial on the Grand Bend CT-133 is clearly marked as "133303"? Hmmm... isn't this the serial of the CT-133 at the Memorial Miltary Museum in Cambleford? The number "591" is marked on the nose, so suspect the Grand Bend airframe is 133591, but even then I am suspicious. Does anyone know anything about the history of this airframe?

Do you want to know about the former Canadian airframes that I have photographed? Or maybe all F-104s that I have photographed? Actually I must have sent some to Scott recently as I am working through "North American" in my photo albums therefore Lockheed isn't that long ago. So Scott should have everything I have. The F-104 I recently posted would be the only new one... except for the one in Holland that I got. I can email that one to you.

Rob, and anyone else interested... The Shermans are both M4A2s, the first photo is of a late M4A2 76mm (diesel), used by the Canadians post-war. The US used the M4A3 (gasoline) version of the same tank during the war, and the 76mm armor (er-armour) piercing round was quite effective. The other Sherman is an earlier varient of the M4A2 (diesel) that would have been used during wartime by the Canadians, equiped with the standard 75mm gun. The first shot looks like the one on display at Downsview, while the second is at Borden. For anyone interested in armor (er-armour), Borden has an excellent collection of allied and axis vehicles that I was able to view several years ago (sorry Eric, I know you were bored to tears....), and is well worth a visit. Oh yeah, their aircraft collection is pretty neat too! Jim

Thanks for the info. I would have taken more time around Borden but we had to get to Toronto before we lost our hotel reservation.

I'll keep Borden on my list of things to do as there is an apparent interest.
