Definitely Special Kay. Location in OP's photo looks like it might be Denny Lynch's facility in Montana.

Yep, definitely Special Kay with that tail number of 679. Where that picture was taken, I’ll have to ask one of the Lynch family members. It could be Billings, but there are some other possibilities.

Stoney, I talked to Randy Lynch. He said the picture was taken in Billings. He also thought it was about 1987 or ‘88 when that was taken because they had changed from the -79 engines to the CB3’s with paddle blades. He pointed out the old QEC rings on the trailer. That was done after filming the movie “Always” because one of the tankers ended up ruining two engines to get the shot the Director wanted. The -79’s were taken off Kay to use on the tanker to finish shooting. So she got the correct engines and props out of the deal!
Where did you pick up the airplane to bring to Billings? JR

well i was never in Montana those years, i was flying a Kingair out of PDX 90' to 96' when i shot this. there where several B-25s there also. i flew for World Airways thur 89' so never got there then.
