So my racer buddy who was interviewed on ESPN one night while running midgets at IRP was asked what he did for a living aside from racing. With a straight face he told the interviewer that he ran a light bulb rebuilding business! The interviewer fell for it hook line and sinker!

The downside was that my buddy started receiving burned out light bulbs from fans. To their amazment, he would actually go out a purchase new ones for them and send them back as rebuilt!

Needless to say, my friend had a serious problem but was a great national champion. The interviewer got in trouble for making fun of the "professional athlete" and nearly lost his job with ESPN. 8)

During WWII my dad collected burnt out bulbs to use during blackouts.

Your problem starts when your family believe you are turning a profit! :D

(Of course only the Mafia run profitable light bulb rebuilding businesses.)

Thanks for putting this foreward.

Yeah I missed this the first time around too, otherwise I would have asked where the invasion stripes on the rebuilt bulb were.

Thanks. I needed something to make me smile.

How many wixers would it take? Trick question, it can't be done! There would be endless arguments about if it were the correct period bulb, whether the threads were left or right handed, what wavelength bulb to use, if the bulb was to actually be used or left in the off position, if insurance would actually cover getting a ladder out to reach the socket, if there were perhaps government grants that could cover the operation, whether stickers would need to be applied to said bulb.......it...........just.............can't be done!
