Sun - N - Fun 2023

Just curious if anyone is down there that can give updates as to what warbirds are there for those of us stuck at work that can't make it... Thank you, Mike

I gather one of the Aero Shell T-6s ground looped and has suffered some damage...

The Rudder steering cable snapped...he was along for the ride.

I was there Friday; I thought the warbird turnout was a bit less than last year.
A thank you to those who did attend.
There was a strong current military turnout, however.
My numbers might be a little off but 6 F-35s, both A and B models, more later on that.
Blue Angles F-18s plus 2 more on static.
4 F-16s, a C-17, KC 135, A-10, and the Hurricane Hunters C-130.
Lots of Helicopters also.

Some shots of the warbirds below.

Here are a couple more warbirds.
The Mig-23 is based in Texas.
The F-86 won Reserve Grand Champion, Oshkosh 2021 and is registered in Florida.

How much damage was done to the aircraft that ground looped?

I mentioned earlier the amount of current military aircraft.
Some interesting types I thought worth a look.

A look down the line.

A pair of QF "Target" F-16s. I was surprised to see these.

Here you can see some of the difference in the F-35A and F-35B.
Marine Corp B models are the first 2 closest.

The main reason I choose Friday was to see the Marine Corp F-35B.
I had never seen one before. Here on short take off, jet intakes open.

And in hover mode.

Great photos! Love the F-35B and QF-16s. It would be cool if the MiG-23 made the rounds at a few airshows.

Anyone who stuck around Friday and Saturday after the day show got a treat.

Your wish may come true, according to a little birdy.

Agreed. The only time I've ever seen a MIG-23 in the air was through binos from across a certain border...

There are a few around in the US.
Caught this one in New Castle Delaware back in 2006 when it belonged to Warbirds of Delaware.
It is currently registered N51734 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Many thanks to all who have posted pics so far!

The scalebirds.com blog mentioned that Steve Wolf's 60% P-47 project would be on display. Do any attendees have pics to post of this?
