Just a thought that crossed my mind this morning - has the WIX brain trust ever created a list of warbird restoration shops?

I can't immediately recall one but would be happy to chip in with NZ-based shops.

To get the ball rolling, off the top of my head, in the UK we have

Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar
Aircraft Restoration Co. at Duxford
Air Leasing at Sywell
Airframe Assemblies on the Isle of Wight
Retrotec Ltd/Historic Aircraft Collection in East Sussex and Duxford
Hawker Restorations Ltd
Kennet Aviation at Old Warden

I assume you are excluding museum and collection in-house restorations such as TFC and Shuttleworth?

This is a decent starting point. I'm not sure some of these shops are still active (haven't heard anything about Aerocrafters in years, for example) and some of the links are out of date, but this could be a jumping off point to fine-tuning a list.

The list on Warbird Alley is here: http://www.warbirdalley.com/maint.htm#Restor

Older list...but still interesting.

Didn’t see Tab-air in East Troy, WI on any list. Sam and Shari have a few Gold Wrenches.

Gross oversight...

Tom Wilson and The Curtiss Hawk Factory (more affectionately known as the Sugar Hill Institute of Technology).
