Good day,
For my website on WWII aircraft gunsights (under development but well on its way), i'm still desperately looking for good quality/rez period cockpit photos of quite a few US planes that clearly show the gunsight installation.
- As I live the other side of the ocean, spending days in the NASM, NARA or AF museum photo archives is unfortunately not possible (my wife wouldn’t agree anyway).
- Most of what you can find or even buy on internet is either endless copies of the same few photos, low quality or instrument panel shots that do not show the gunsight.
I attached below a few examples of the kind of photos I’m looking for.
Looking for photos of quite a few planes. A few examples:
- P-63A & P-63C
- P-39 all models
- Early CAC built Mustang
- B-25J & B-25H
- A-20 late models
- P-36
- F7F
- PBJ-1 equipped with APG-13 radar
- Quite a few types of turrets
- ….
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. And if can’t but know somebody who can or who loves spending his time in photo archives, do not hesitate to tell me.
Thanks in advance,
Laurent
