Walter Ehlers came ashore on D Day with the 1st division at Omaha Beach. Mr Ehlers received the M.O.H. for his actions on June 9th as the troops moved further inland. I had an oppoprtunity to meet Mr Ehlers a couple/three years ago. A very nice man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_D._Ehlers Godspeed.

Mr Ehlers used to ride with us each year (3 or 4 years) in the half track in the Huntington Beach 4th of July parade. He was a wonderful gentleman and it was a great honor to know him.
