Noble J. Waite
1924 ~ 2012
Huntington Beach, CA. Our father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather, Noble J. Waite passed away on May 27 , 2012, at the age of 87 due to complications from a fall. Noble was born November 14, 1924 to Noble and June Waite in Fallon, NV. He attended elementary and high school in Bell, CA and graduated in 1942 from Bell High School.
He served as a Captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-17 pilot and completed 23 missions over Germany. He married Lenore Sly in the Salt Lake Temple on October 4, 1945 after Noble returned from the war. Noble attended the University of Southern California and graduate with his Pharmacy degree. Noble and Lenore moved to Huntington Beach, CA started their family and established "Waite's Main Drug". He was a city councilman and mayor pro-tem for the City of Huntington Beach and served on the Huntington Beach School Board.
Noble was a family friend and aided my father-in-law when he was sick by running his pharmacy for him, he was a very good man and was a typical Greatest Generation guy involved in civic, business and church matters with aplomb. Great guy, loved flying but never did it after the war, I never saw this photo until today.
