Wow, a very sad moment. I remember when he purchased the P-51 Glamorous Gal which was based here in my hometown at one time.

Hate to bring this topic back up, but I can't help but add how sad that I am after learning today about this. I was away with my wife and daughter for a few days, and didn't know about it till today as Bill S. called me to tell me the news. I'm still in a bit of shock. So many people have seen him take to the skies, and then get the chance to talk to him on the ground. He was a first class gentleman who put all the airshow and warbird fans first. I was lucky enough to have met him about 5 years ago when I asked him about my 'proposal' idea. Not for a second did he think twice about saying yes. I've seen them at countless airshows since then, even helping 'watching' his planes at Reading after hours.......the first show I go to this year that he was to attend, I am going to feel a huge void. My prayers and thoughts are with Chris and his family now. God Bless you Bob, thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Last summer I got to see a bunch of P-40s at Geneseo (for the first time). Bob B. was there and took part in a formation photo flight in the afternoon. When they all came back it was a fantastic sight...

My thoughts are with his family and my hopes are for a safe year from today on out...

-another slow, gentle roll into the sunset-

too much

I'm still saddened. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.

What I am amazed at are the 'eye witnesses' descriptions of the SAME ACCIDENT!!!!

A flip, a loop, a spin, augered, nose dive.., which was it?

Good Grief!

and yes., very saddened at this tremendous loss to this community

unless it is a pilot, with aerobatic experiance, who saw it, I take eye witness reports with a grain of salt.
What one sees as a roll, another sees a flip, another sees a loop, another says it was a circle.
It sounds like a classic stall/spin crash.
Eye witnesses make lousy witnesses, watch this and tell me what you see

One of the first things taught at NTSB crash school is that 'eye witnesses' are the least reliable source of information.

agreed.., and I was an 'eye' witness when the first boeing smacked into tower one.

now I have seen so much video in my mind I can not distinguish what I witnessed or what I saw on the news!
