Hello Everyone!!!

I am a newbie to this site. From what I have seen it is an excellent one! I was lucky enough to have met quite a few members at the 2009 1941 Historical Aircraft Group Airshow in lovely Geneseo, New York earlier this month.
I am from north-central Pennsylvania. I have been facinated with warbirds since I was a child. I enjoy all warbirds, but, seem to be facinated with the Battle of Britain, and, therefore the Me 109, 110, the He 111, The Hurricane and I am aftaid I am smitten the most with the Spitfire. I stalk them and my grandsons would all say I am obsessed with them! lol I guess my interest began to grow when I lived about five blocks from the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC during the late 60's and early 70's. (Actually - I lived on 4th street and saw the one on the Mall get built! At that time the aircraft and rockets were in the old red Arts and Industries building next to the castle!) It bloomed when I went to the "Transpo" airshow at Dulles Airport in the earlie 70's and saw nearly every warbird then in existance! LOL...well, it seemed like it! Geesh, there was everything the CAF had and they even had a British Vulcan Bomber flying around! It was drool great!
I was saddened that the folks I met at Geneseo were such a quiet, serious bunch who did not like having fun or laughing.....Yeah, Right !!!! That was the space station that passed over after dinner...but, the orange glowing object we saw???? I may have to speak to my friends at MUFON about that! lol!!!
Seriously, I truely enjoyed visiting with all of the WIX members. We certainly share the same passion for warbirds and nearly anything that flies! It was great to spend time with people who remember and appreciate all the fantastic shows that have been on that little grass strip
Sorry it took me so long to post. It took nearly a week for me to get activated and then I went for a family vacation for a week. But, I am on now and am looking forward to discussing one of my greatest passions and learning a lot!
