The Air Force has selected the popular reference name for the new Boeing KC-46A, Pegasus, appropriate and I expect lots of squadrons getting the airplane will adopt the red flying horse in their logos. It'll be interesting to see what nicknames the wags come up with-

Mobil will probably tell the Air Force it is a copyrighted trademark and they can't use it without paying them an exorbitant licensing fee.

I remember seeing TEXACO star logos on the boom pods of some KC-135s during Desert Storm.

All we did was write to the company to get permission to use the logo and 9 times out of 10 they said yes. Only had one guy tell us no, he was the owner of the "Backwoodsman magazine" I wanted to put the prospector pulling on the reins of a sitting mule as our nose art (and have our tail number "branded" on the mules rump) But he said no so his loss.
