Does anybody have any suggestions for some good P-51 books? I'm looking mainly for markings & nose art. I would like something heavy on photos & not necessarily super heavy on the squadron histories.

Thanks,

Mac

Ok, these are the books that I have about Mustangs that contain a lot of photos:
Mustang: A documentary history of the P-51 by Jeffrey L Ethell Amazon.com
Mustangs (Warbird Today Series, No. 2) Amazon.com
P 51 Mustang by Robert Grinsell, Rikyu Watanabe Amazon.com

I have Mustang Survivors by Paul Coggan It is a book of color photos of restored P-51s. Another book is P-51 Mustang A Photo Chronicle by Larry Davis. A lot of the photos are B&W but they do date back to when the P-51 was in service.

Agreed, contact Jack Cook for those ........... and you are set !

Jim are you interested in any of the individual 8th/9th Air Force fighter group history books. Though in most cases the photo dimensions are small, the different nose art and markings make them quite unique and not the run of the mill often found in a generalized publication
