Fresh out of the factory, the third T-50-3.

There are some minor difference with this one, no spear at the radome, must be due to the huge AESA radar inside this one.

Looks like the T-50-01 prototype has hit some structure cracks and have been grounded.
All three flying prototype + the other on the floor are seeing some structure re-designing.

On a more sunny side of Russian Aviation, this happend:

The Su-35S serial production are well under way now, the 4th aircraft delivered so far are all partizipating in the RuAF state trials. Weapons trials or now on with lots of new A2A and A2G missiles beeing tested.

The T-50-01 or side No. 51 has re-entered the Pak-Fa test flight program, after some 11 month grounded and overhaul due to cracks found in the airframe.

That makes the No. 51 targeted for High G Manuvering testing profile.

No. 52 have completed the first stage of airial refuling, and will continue the supersonic test profile.

No. 53 will countinue the Sensor and AESA radar testing profile.

No.54 are expected at the end of this year, with a AESA radar closer to the serial spesification, while the No. 53 uses a experimantal prototype AESA.

Not much news going on right now, however i have a little something from Sukhoi:

http://www.sukhoi.org/eng/news/company/?id=4975

And who would have thought.. Irkut(IAPO) has scored a deal with VVS(RuAF) on 30 Su-30SM. This is the very first domestic deal ever from Irkut afaik! All Su-30MK produced prior has been exports only.
It is believed a full Sq(+12) will replace the old Sq of Su-24 based at Krimea(Black Sea region) in Ukraine. This is a deal between the two countries.
This is the RuNavy aviation we are talking about, which have not seen any new deliveries sinse the cold war era. In fact the RuNavy Aviation has been axed to the death or so i believed..
There are only a hand full of Tu-22, the Carrier based Su-33 and the Sq Su-24 left in RuNavy Aviation service today.

The rest of these SM will enter VVS as Advanced trainers for the Su-35S and later on 5th Gen T-50's fleet. They are fully combat ready as well.

Anyway, the Su-30SM is the domestic VVS version of the Famous Su-30MKI.
There will be some difference in various systems between the two, perhaps the Russian Su-30SM will get higher rated thrust engines or a new AESA radar.. still too early to tell.
The Airframe itself is pretty much off the shelf, with the latest airframe strenghting to get the Brahmos size(NC) missile capability.
So the units price should not be too stiff, nowhere close too the KnAAPO produced Su-35S anyway.

And here is another news:
VVS has acceptet the first six Yak-130 Advanced Trainers into service after an extensive Instructor training program. More from Irkut will follow shortly.

Just wanted to post something i havent thought about earlier..
In this Vid, we can see the different Control surfaces of the Su-35S.

One cool detail is how detached they are from each other.
Look closely at the elevators, one flips widly and the other standing idle.. probably the Flight Control system giving inputs, while the pilot can consentrate on his display.

Just a short update.
The 4th Pak-Fa (T-50-4) made first flight earlier this week.

http://tvzvezda.ru/news/forces/content/ ... 3-tk19.htm

Some smaller changes regarding Sensors, but the overall design seems pretty solid by now.
Sukhoi will produce 10 LIRP T-50 for the VVS State Trials, before entering serial production later on.

A longer youtube vid of the T-50-4.
Its not the first flight judging by the fact the jet got painted. First flight is allways done without any paint sceeme.

And i wonder if this vid was leaked somehow.. lots of jucy details here. Is it the APU starting up prior to starting the engines, or is it a startup cart behind the jet?

It looks colder than a polar bear butt over there in Sibir(Far East Russia), Did one of the Ground crew defrost the jet with a steamer?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeYyLNjxkHk

The T-50-4 prototype arrived at Moscow a few days ago, and is the first prototype to fly from KnAAPO AB to Zukhosky AB by its own. Its a little over 7000km, it had to make two stop/landings on its way. Not bad at all..

While the long wait for any new development on Pak-Fa program. Let me post a few updates on other fighter program in RuAF.

Here is a link on the very latest Flanker, the last batch b/n 09-12, Su-35S was delivered last week.
The Su-35S has passed the State Trials phase one, which means all system, engine and airframe design is approved for service.

There are currently 96 Su-35S on order by Russian MoD/RuAF.

http://ru-aviation.livejournal.com/2517539.html

The State trials Phase two is ongoing, and it is the new weapons trials. Lots of new missile, and A2G stuff being tested. The Kh-38 has recent made service.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BI4W7v7HwU

In this vid, the Pilots and Sq commander at the 929th flight test center (Akhtubinsk) explain that the Average Flanker pilots in VVS cannot simply advance over the the new Su-35S.
Many hours of study and flight simulators before first flight on this new machine. All the on board system are new and complex, and Flanker pilots have to re-learn everything and most important learn to use all the increased capabilities. Better Kenetics performance. Longer range. Better SA, detection range and networking system. New Missiles parameters. The same goes for Ground crew. Lots on new system the maintain.

On the Su-34.
It has entered service and with the latest batch delivered it has surpassed two full Sq in numbers.

http://dmitrydreamer.livejournal.com/41295.html

The "Hellduck" Su-34 is also under State trials phase two, new weapons trials.

And also, the Su-30SM, which are currently under State Trials Phase one, and there are only two flying for now.

There are orders for 36 Su-30SM.
