It’s Here! The Mighty Tri-Motor Joins the Air Adventure Fleet!

Considered by many to be the airplane that started the modern-day airline industry and a staple example of the magnificent aircraft of the Golden Age of Aviation, the Yankee Air Museum is proud to announce the newest member of the Air Adventure fleet: the Ford 4-AT-B Tri-Motor!

The Tri-Motor arrived at Yankee Air Museum on Saturday and will be ready to fly passengers beginning in the 2021 Air Adventure Season! We are excited to take a step back in time with our guests to experience the thrill, passion, and excitement of flying aboard the first luxury airliner that redefined world travel with the Tri-Motor!

While the Tri-Motor is currently not accessible to the public, we would like to invite our community to a special Roaring Twenties event in September to celebrate the arrival of this new acquisition, and to get a sneak-peek, close-up look at the aircraft. Stay tuned for more details!

That's another one of the former Greg Herrick / Golden Wings Museum collection sold...

Mr Herrick allegedly bought this one and had it restored to display it the way the original N(C)9610 had been flown, incl. loops and rolls. If I remember correctly this was even going to take place at AirVenture (Oshkosh) 2011. None of that happened, of course. The story at Oshkosh at the time was that the FAA wouldn't have it.
